Make buttons yourself with our new hand-operated button maker.<><><> /> /> />>Step 1 We will start with the design of the button. The button size is 2 1/4". The best approach is to draw 2 circles. The outer circle is app. 2 3/4" in diameter and the inner circle is 2 1/4" in diameter. The gap between the circles is where the paper overlaps behind the button. | Step 2 Now design and print your work. We recommend our 26lb. double side coated matte photo paper. It is lightweight and gives excellent color reproduction. | Step 3 The next step is to cut the prints off the page. We offer two different types of circle cutter or you can find them at your local craft store. | Step 4 Now for the assembly. This is what you need: The button machine, the metal plate, the backing with pin, a clear mylar cover, and the print. | Step 5 There are two cups on this button machine. Using the "DEEPER" of the two cups first, you install the following parts: 1. First you place the metal backing with the "ridge" of the backing faced down in the machine. 2. Now the print is placed in the cup. The print side is up. NOTE: position the print so the bottom of it is opposite the press as shown in the photo. 3. Last, the mylar film goes down. | Step 6 After packing the cup with the button pieces, the base is rotated until it is under the press. | Step 7 You now press the assembly together. After pressing, the assembly will sit up in the press until the pin backing is attached. | Step 8 After the first pressing, the pin backing is placed in the opposing or "SHALLOW" cup. As shown, the pin is oriented away from the press. | Step 9 Now rotate it. | Step 10 Now press it. | Step 11 One last turn will yield a finshed button!! | | Click on the Store to order your supplies!
